Concept

Gathering together to creating a permanent public memorial for Montecito 1/9 Debris Flow victims.

23 BOULDERS removed from flow area to beach*, each one representing one of the deceased.  Speed in a line, facing the sea, grouped by family, and scaled according to age.  Smallest boulder for 2 year old Lydia Sutthithepa and largest for James Mitchell, age 89.  Seat carved in to each boulder for family, friends and strangers to reflect.  Each name, with age, engraved on to the backrest.

Semi circle and grouped by family, and scaled according to age.  Smallest boulder for 2 year old Lydia Sutthithepa and largest for James Mitchell, age 89.  Seat carved in to each boulder for family, friends and visitors to reflect.  Each name, with age, engraved on to the backrest.
